Richard de Luchi: Traditions Richard de Luchi is a British artist now living and working in Portugal. He has studied art in the UK and Italy. His work has been shown throughout Europe and Brazil. Richard creates in a variety of mediums including printmaking, painting, and drawing, as well as being a theatre set designer, and working in the fabric arts. " I am a figurative, representational painter, very much concerned with traditional themes of light and shade, composition, drawing and colour. I draw and paint the male body because it interests me. Every model is different, so doing a portrait or figure study is always something new. At the risk of sounding pretentious, I will say that I seek the poetry in each individual.
