About Gay Art Gallery

Gay Art Gallery was founded to provide more opportunities for Gay and Gay-friendly artists to showcase and sell their work. By exhibiting on the World Wide Web, they reach a much wider audience. It also gives Gay Art Gallery an exciting chance to find wonderful artists and exceptional and different works of art. It is our goal to explore works in many different mediums, and to feature geographically diverse artists.

Our Philosophy

Gay Art Gallery does not believe in censorship. We do not believe in hiding artistic interpretation of the nude figure, or artistic depiction of Gay lifestyles and sexualities, behind walls of fear and warnings. We are proud of our sexual orientation and the influences it has on our body of art. We will not dumb down our approach to exhibiting wonderful art just to accommodate the discomfort of other people. And we will not kowtow to the prejudices and right wing moralities of other people and governments. That said, everyone here is 18 years of age or older.

Content

Gay Art Gallery will exhibit outstanding artworks by Gay, Lesbian, and any GLBTQ artists. We will also be glad to showcase art by any artist that endeavors to depict the Gay experience, or that would appeal to a Gay audience. We are glad to welcome non-Gay people to enjoy these works. Great art is great art! We know that regular installation of new exhibits that grace our cyber-walls will ensure your regular viewing. We welcome your suggestions.

We're Looking for Art and Artists

Gay Art Gallery is always looking for new artists and works of art to showcase in our galleries. If you are an artist who thinks that Gay Art Gallery is a good fit for your work, please contact us. We are happy to look at your art, electronically, photographically, or in person. E-mails should have reasonable sized attachments. We love art and love to look at lots of it. And we love Gay art (although we hesitate to use labels).

Gay Art Gallery is also looking for consignments of collections of vintage or contemporary Gay art, or individual items of merit. We can help you research, catalog, scan, caption, and sell the works you have. As a sales venue that will reach a broader niche audience than other non-Gay online venues, we offer sales procedures that will enable you to offer your collection or items most comfortably and effectively. All of the legal rights guaranteed by U.S. and other countries' copyright laws belong exclusively to the artist. That means no copying or downloading for any commercial or any other use, without the express permission of the artist. Copying, printing, or downloading any gallery item on this website is prohibited. Please respect the wishes of our artists in this regard. For any use under the Fair Use clause of copyright law, you must contact Gay Art Gallery for permission. Remember, our artists work hard for the money, and they do not deserve to have their legal rights ignored, or their work exploited, by anyone, for any reason.

We know that even in the 21st century, many of you may be concerned about privacy considerations. Gay Art Gallery is in the business of exhibiting and selling art. We are not in business to sell mailing lists or any information about our customers. Gay Art Gallery will not give out any customer information. All information submitted will be held strictly confidential.

If any work is damaged in shipping, we will try to replace it. If it is a multiple such as a photograph or print, we will obtain another one. If it is one of a kind, we will refund your purchase price. If there is any serious problem, please contact us immediately.
